Businessman calls for more support in Whitley Bay

“A Whitley Bay businessman is calling for more to be done to help residents and businesses in the town.”

Stephen Mack, who runs the Aloe Vera Centre in Duchess Street, believes more can be done to attract shoppers as well as improve the appearance of the town.

Mr Mack, who is standing as a candidate in the next local elections, says current measures around parking are a total disaster and prevent people from shopping or visiting.

He wants a disc parking scheme, similar to Morpeth, which allows people to stay for a certain time, allowing them to stay longer than the current restrictions. For the rest of the article click News Guardian

  • Let’s make it safer and easier for wheelchairs, pushchairs and pedestrians.
  • Let’s find a better way to run the parking in Whitley Bay Town Centre to encourage people to visit and make it easier for both residents and business owners.
  • Let’s provide more rubbish bins for dog walkers and others to put rubbish in.
  • Let’s make it safer for all of us to walk and cross the roads of our shopping streets and residential areas
